TPL Vision offers a unique LED backlighting solution, called the “Black & Light”, that provides standard backlighting when on and a contrasting matte black appearance when turned off. This can be useful when a single camera station must sequentially provide both back lighting and front lighting. The matte black background helps to absorb, rather than reflect, front lighting and mitigates the potential to create additional glare and hotspots in the acquired front-lit image.

This enhances flexibility in machine design by permitting switching between backlighting and front-lighting at the same camera station.

White, red, green, blue, and infrared wavelengths are available, all of which change to a matte black background when off.

Available sizes range from 200mm X 200mm to 1900mm X 900mm. The Black & Light is available in Standard, Overdrive, and Triniti versions.
